My guess is the automaton is part of his fathers corpse. It's why he needs to be the pilot, because he's the only living relative or some shit. This ain't spoilers, I'm just guessing.

Going along Smokron's train of thought, I think that maybe the "brain" of the automaton is patterned off of his father. So, in other for the mind upload to work, perhaps someone with a similar personality/thought pattern was required to pilot it.

Story is aight so far. Mc is actually pretty likeable and has a proper personality and the superhero looks cool. Rn Imma give this manga a 6/10 just cause it's still early so lets see.
