This chapter made me realise that AWEON should just be importing things like olive/palm/sunflower oil, salt, sugar etc. And maybe a smallish (don't want to flood the market) amount of things like cultured pearls. Oh, and cloth. Basically anything that was, pre-industrial revolution, difficult/tedious/time consuming to make, but is easy now. Skip the whole supermaket/mall shtick and go for higher value things they can sell as a wholesaler directly to merchants who can do the grunt work of moving the goods around the world.

But then it'd be a different manga I guess.

The main problem with that is they can't move the kind of volume to make that profitable. I believe it was kind of stated earlier but they can only warp in like 3 small carts worth of stuff every 2 weeks. So with that limitation, he's basically trying to setup stuff that is more local.

I kind of forgot about that bit. But I think it also justifies my thinking in a way. If you only have limited space for transferring goods, then smaller, higher value items are the way to go. But then they wouldn't be a supermarket, they'd be an expensive specialist store setting pearls, jewelry, spices, glass mirrors etc.

Not complaining or nit-picking though, just random musings brought on by Fancine's reaction to the salt (that stuff was basically gold at one stage).
