Note for the translator: "Ishiyumi" isn't a special name or anything. It's "crossbow"
https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/いしゆみ
Hi, translator here. The name of the bow was written with furigana, so I made the decision to translate it as a name rather than as just the word. Of course, there's always the likelihood the furigana was there because it's an uncommon word to use in Japanese (not exactly the most normal thing to bring up in everyday conversation) but if the need arises later on, I'll happily revert the translation to read 'crossbow' instead.

Either way, thank you for picking up on this.

That is a trebuchet, not a catapult.

Trebuchet use a counterweight.
hey man, just wanted to let you know i think you accidentally read the translation done by MaitrePVP rather than ours and then commented on ours - fujin makes no mention of a catapult or trebuchet, however the other one does. sorry for the confusion!

YEAH, FINALLY, it's about time people noticed that you need to bow the bow more than to sword the sword around

Not that unusual combination for weapons...
Elves iconically use bows and dual wield swords or axes as a backup (typical ranger setup).
Dwarves use axes, maces, halberd for melee, and crossbow for range, they're also the best users of crossbows out of any fantasy race because they have enough strength to easily load a crossbow by hand.

Elf with axe is a bit out of the ordinary, but crossbow dwarf is like the second most likely kind of dwarf to find guarding anything of importance.

Ten thousand points for Maya Amano in the credits page.

Post Script: Having read all the chapters, the manga is pretty fun, too. Delightful world-building details!
