isnt it obvious that shes gonna be emotionally dependent on protag in the end? i dont want that to happen, and i dont like pov protag either. honestly id rather she would just ignore him, but im not the author so who am i to talk

I don’t get people saying they dislike the protag, guy never had a line, it’s clearly the same age as her and its trying to help a girl who gets abused both physically and sexually by her mother

Well, even if he's interested in her as a potential partner, it's pretty obvious that advances like that are unwelcome given the place she's at. So good on him for helping, of course, but he wouldn't play right into her suspicions of his ulterior motives if he leaned on the platonic angle more.

Isn’t "I don’t need to help you, so sit down" a translation error, and instead meant "I don’t need you to help me" or something similar?
Nah, I think the mistake was putting quotation marks around it when she's not actually quoting him, she repeated what the protag said from "You don't need to help me, so sit down" from her perspective

No, she always talks like this by replacing the "you should sit down" with "I should sit down?", the question mark just needs to be outside the quote.
