i think it's still trending upwards, since all of that progress before couldn't be broken even when she fell back down into the black speech pattern, it reverted back immediately!

Seriously, how have things continued like this with such an obvious level of child abuse? Either the teachers are trash or the local police/child protective services are trash (or both) for this to have continued. I've seen plenty of manga where CPP show up (sometimes hinted at not being their first visit) and the parents act perfectly to get away with it, but how do you pass off weekly new noticeable bruises?
