the characters in this arc are honestly great, stand out compared to previous arcs. bakin and the young lord especially

@CosmicWitch Through the entire arc she's kinda stupid with her disguise. We've previously seen that she's pretty skilled at pulling off weird characters (like that fat woman once), but here she always performs waaaaaaaay too outrageously without any care in the world.

And, yeah, you can argue her dodge is reflex. But even before then it should occur to her that being a performer doesn't mean she should have the stamina to casually sprint up stairs and so on and so on ...

@Pyoro I guess her constantly fighting her way out of situations takes its toll on the skill of keeping in character. She has to have at least this one weakness.
Also, weird characters are best for short-term tasks, but too hard to maintain long-term, especially under surveilance , and Azumi has to deal with a deaf bro who's not sure what's going on. You have to be a passionate method actor to keep your true self hidden for so long even without a deaf bro.

@Rays True. And, okay, she's always shown to be kinda oblivious to what's going on around her. Super-sharp when it comes to any sort of attacks and such, but in terms of the larger political scheming and such she's usually portrayed as too straight-forward to shrewdly figure things out before she gets captured by someone and then has to murder a few hundred people. ^^#

This is shaping up to be one of the classic arcs, so long as this cult is handled well. Although saying that, almost every arc has been stand-out so far.
I'm hoping the three spies left for the shogunate actually do something useful soon, they have been less than useless since leaving the boat.
