Yeah... a little surprising to see Bakin go down like that. The earlier chapters had hyped him up a little. I suppose it came down to luck, seeing how his blade snapped, but what a waste of a master fencer. I honestly thought he'd have had a bigger role. I liked him a bit.

Azumi was raised as the ultimate fencer, after she won thousands battles, she'd at least be superhuman like, I'd like to say even in real life the true warriors go train in battlefield or warzones and not in a ring with judge, safety, physicians etc

Not the unbendable or unbreakable blade? So far Ichigeki is the only manga in which they actually teach people to throw away sword and replace it with fallen enemy's.

She is not a samurai, not even a sword fighter. She is a trained killer, that is why she is better than the others. No waste moment + being acrobatic can be a deathly combo IMO.
Not sure about other weapon but when it come to sword, Japanese way of fighting has too much ceremony in it. At least as far as my knowledge and experience go.
