It's been a really long time but he's not the first to mistake Azumi for a Tokugawa loyalist. Obviously, nobody knows, but she friggin' killed Ieyasu. If she felt their rule was brutal and unjust, he'd probably have a chance, but "let's start a new war over this" is not exactly a compelling argument.
