I knew that the letter was an obvious plot device to force our girl to actually speak up, but thank goodness that something is finally going to force an end to this part of the plot. I wish our normally intelligent FMC would have noticed on her own given all the obvious hints without the brooch telling her then maybe have just been too timid to say something.

I guess that we were building to some bigger plot about the Mage Tower being a part of a conspiracy to keep the heir from being found (guessing that's why the letter says no blood relatives).

Nah, remember Noah seeing some kid delivering the letter and noting how it was the wrong way to do it, almost as if they were hiding a fraudulent letter? Someone in the mage tower is part of the plot, but has to work around the mage tower instead of through it.

To be honest, my hopes aren't high in Clarisse actually speaking up :/
Literally almost every single manhwa I've read make their characters act so stupid in situations like this for absolutely no reason. So many manhwa authors do this and it actually drives me insane that its led me to pretty much make it a rule to avoid so much of korean comics in general.
I'll actually bite myself if Clarisse immediately speaks up at the beginning of the next chapter.

We actually know that she did submit blood samples, there's something screwy at play to stop her finding her daughter.
