So he basically counters melee attackers who use weapons. Alright, but I guess bladed weapons will be harder to do that with

I think it does not hard counter melee, only normal things. For the stuff bought from the shop he likely has to either upgrade the ability or it takes more time/energy to transform it.

@R4nd0mus3r I don't see how the shape of the weapon will make it harder for him to reforge, he turned a fire axe into a giant kitchen knife bruh.

No I'm talking about while in combat, it's significantly harder to grab/touch a thinner bladed weapon like a knife that is being swung compared to that metal bat.
