Awww that's sad to see. I think she made the right move though breaking it off before things went further or got more complicated. As much as she might like him, it's important to share the values and goals you consider most important. She cares about having defined commitment and some structure and I don't think he's in that place. In fact, I don't think he realizes the very things he's labelling as a bother or that can be put off are actually her goals/dreams.

I can't understand, in the first chapter, didn't the author make it look like he was constantly cheating on her for five years? I thought she broke up with him because of his infidelity. I feel like I misunderstood somethings in this story.

@Ceereus ik, that would piss me off as well. All I'm saying is that she didn't think the song was good even after she calmed herself down and realized the only people watching were his friends. That made me wonder if he's actually good or just an average singer.

idk, I don't really like the guy because he came off as a huge player in their college days, but I don't think he had ill intentions by including that photo on his video. He probably thought it'd be "cute" and show her that she's important to him. Seems to me that he wants to get back together but doesn't want to be too upfront about it. Only time will tell If it's because he's a manipulative piece of shit or because he was trying to give her some space first. Either way, it looks like she's on his mind a lot.

@Oylesine From what I understood they weren't dating at the time. She liked him but they were just friend and that's when he was seeing a lot of people then they started going out together. And I don't think he was seeing other girls when they were or at least I don't remember it being said.

@mukade I'm going to be argumentative and say it is manipulative and burdensome to forcefully display your affection etc for someone who broke up with you. He's not being evil or cunning or sly but he is trying to sway her emotions. When she's already struggling since she didn't break it off due to a lack of love but due to different mindsets/goals.

He does want to get back together but it's not like his goals etc are now matching hers afaik so it's not ok to manipulate her.

It's similar to your ex praising your good points excessively when he makes a toast when you're out together with friends.

I got the impression his music is actually good from other things in the chapter but that's just me.
