Imo, the power and this arc do make some sense! While he does want revenge on his ex party members, they are basically "small fries"! There's the whole mystery around this Master, the powerful human who destroyed his village and this whole ancient society! How are they connected is the mystery the MC has to discover! A revenge story is more or less the introduction on how this world functions and honesty it would become pretty bland if that was the whole story

We started this piece with the MC renovating the biggest baddest dungeon into his own personal crib filled to the brim with world-ending magic and people. Compared to that these floors might as well be the author dangling a set of keys in front of our faces.For your next trick you might as well ask "aren't you curious how the MC will overcome the mysterious threat in the bowels of this place???"

I feel you - dunno why they do that (they also have varying translation quality IMO). Not sure if it's how they get their raws, or they have "standards" but I am guessing that their web presence probably is reaching the Chinese regions, and it's not impossible they have AI there which detects and bans IP with those content.
