Ironic that Hye-ra ended up doing the same thing then worse, going from chasing a ghost to actively trying to destroy her.

I think you got there something wrong, you na and hye Ra never done it together. Hye Ra only took you na to the girls but wasn't one of them. That also wouldn't fit her desire to see yu na in a crying broken state, also she is manipulating her "living dolls" and won't be involved until the finally.
If you mean the girl yu na "dated" in high school, she is not hye Ra, they have different eye colours(ch.36), but it would make at least a bit for character development and a twist if it was her wearing contacts.
