I mean, it was really convenient. While we all know Yuri isn't the brightest, I doubt anyone would have picked anything was up with Atsuko's story in that situation.

So one possibility that I can think of is that Atsuko has been stalking Yuri and found out about her abusive husband, back when the story was focused more through Atsuko's eyes, she showed how mad she was how Yuri's husband treated her the way he did

Maybe Atsuko was the one the husband was cheating with and when she noticed how he was treating Yuri she snapped and killed him. I guess it wouldn't make sense for her to trick the reader in her own thoughts in the first chapter but I've seen a couple movies where a character keeps up an act even when they're alone so I don't think my theory has no chance it's just not likely.
