@toastedguy I think the image was due to Baki looking at the sword. Miyamoto probably imagined Baki wielding the sword, and thought that instead of fighting the most powerful martial artist on the planet (banquet) he would be fighting a complete novice in swordplay (ruined banquet). He had the same impression when he fought Pickle and Pickle picked up the katana, chapters ago.

It's more like Musashi envisioned this battle as an endless banquet to feed his lust for combat, but now that he's actually about to face Baki, it's like there's nothing for him to eat. There is nothing for him to gain in this fight, because he's going to die.
