Its realybased on story. In that world slimes as i see realy durable. I would call it a mid lv threath.
Rimuru a great example too for strong slime. But there are some other storys where slimes are op.
In Monster girl quest (visual novel)
Erubetie the slime queen is on of the top 5 strongest monsters. Shes ultimate move is literal nuclear fusion.
Some other storys even humans can tear the slimes apart with bare hand but here it take a full power blow.
I do agree guts copy have no brain. You dont need to be a rocket scientist to figure a slime weakness out.

Yes, I know about other slimes, but that's why I insist it's "common" in "most" fantasy world. Take Dragon Quest for example. First monster you always fight is a slime.
