Howdy y'all, Kiwi here

Glad to have finally gotten this chapter done, I actually went to CLRD it recently only to realize I had done it months ago, so uhhhh... hooray. (Also apparently it hasn't been as long as I thought since the last chapter... still longer than I thought, but damn.)

I had a lot of fun with the baseball specific lingo on pages 9 and 10. I probably didn't quite get the original text verbatim, but to be honest I think what I have works pretty well.

Also I'm happy to have someone helping me on the TS for this, because I don't know if I can handle this entire series solo if I ever want to make progress.

"I'm not an idol anymore, I'm an actress."
A distinction only hardcore fans care about.

"Life is losing. That's what I always say."
Sounds like copium for a loser.

"Everyone says failure is the mother of success."
And the way to capitalise on that is to fail faster, so you can improve faster.

Real fans even recognise the vendors.

No main character in sight.

I mean the whole point of the chapter clearly was to change her perspective from “Life is pain if anyone tells you otherwise they’re selling something” to “have grit and determination in the face of adversity”

Also Ruriko is in like a third of the chapter, she just barely speaks. Murata goes multiple chapters without appearing sometimes he’s just like that.

Isn't it normal to say you've changed jobs when you've changed jobs?
I didn't stop being a programmer when I switched jobs. And it's normal to talk about people as being part of what you're talking about, like talking about someone as a voice actor when you're talking about something they voice acted in, even if they've retired.

Also, I just realized Ruriko recognized her from the old Photo in Chapter 17 and not because she's an Idol/actress

The person asks if she is the idol, Natsume so Natsume's answer that she is not is factual. The question was phrased in the present-tense and Natsume is no longer working as an idol.

What she thinks is irrelevant for what I said, though, as is what's technically correct. I was talking explicitly about people who're not her.

Bandwagoners will NEVER understand the pain of cheering for a losing team

:angery:
This is something that I've been thinking about ever since it crystallized in my head that us series don't have the relegation/advancement system that most of the world uses for their sports leagues.

Supporting a lower end team is very different when the threat is relegation (Vs. in NFL for example if you do poorly you just throw the end season away to get better drafts), and supporting a lower division team is more exciting when they can advance. Like Manchester City going from playing in division 2 in 98, division 1 in 99, to the premier league in 00, back to div1 in 01 and back to premier league in 02, that kind of rollercoaster is completely different from what happens in the US major leagues.

Damn right. It makes winning that much sweeter when it happens, though.

When was the last time we had a hint of romance?

Literally the last chapter was about Kojiro and his wife. The one before that about Ruriko and Murata.

You reminded me that my favorite soccer team is gonna get relegated this year unless a miracle happens. :qq:
