I wonder why the Japanese like that one specific dessert so much. It has appeared in a number of manga/anime. In fact, if someone asked me to name the specific cake that appeared in a (non-cooking) Manga X, I'd just say Mont Blanc by default, if I didn't know any better from having recently read it.

That's cool and all, but we haven't really seen anything that required anyone to study anything - it's just standard high school fare so far. It's not like bands or songs are being name dropped or anything.
