The clout of cannon is kinda bothersome. It sounds like there is a generic list of powers that can be granted and cannon is one of the most simple and effective ones. I suppose it'll be fun if he runs into another sophist.

I kinda wonder how he's gonna pass cannon off as related to telepathy though.

It's not really a matter of passing which ability off. It's a matter of slowly obtaining more abilities. If he can successfully both mind-read and use the cannon it's easier for people to believe his true ability might be to use 'all abilities'. The question is if he can successfully gain this next ability. I'm guessing she's going to ask him if he knows whats in her pocket.

@shoker I know the ultimate objective but before he accomplishes that he'll have to at least relate his cannon ability to his telepathy ability, otherwise why write it as "my real ability" implying he has only one? The other implication is that she's immensely stupid if she can believe that "my real ability is teleportation" and "cannon is just naturally apart of that" without any reasoning, so it means that he'll have to concoct an excuse for her.

Of course it's entirely possible that she's just that stupid, but it would also be immensely disappointing (or would be if I expected more lol).

I wonder how he's gonna explain telepathy? Like is he just gonna say what he does is all in your head? Or does she now think he has TWO abilities? The latter would be very powerful, especially if he hinted that he had more abilities hidden away.

I think that'll likely be the first question asked - but our MC has shown to be clever and could use misdirection.

Or maybe this is like 400IQ bait and the point is to make her believe that his true ability isn't cannon or telepathy. We know Sophistry is based on who the opponent is perceived as and the MC isn't stupid enough to not realize that he's almost permanently locked in as 'canon-user'. If she refutes the belief that he can use telepathy - it's not a far stretch that she at least believes half of the sentence being that his "real ability" is something else. That could be useful later on for swapping into an ability you need. Although it would be even harder for her to believe the next one.
I'm guessing on the off chance he manages to obtain telepathy - it's worth enough of a shot since everyone else will already give him 'canon-user' this round.

I don't think he wants to just know what other people's abilities are with telepathy, I think he really just wants to better understand his own ability and to have feedback on whether or not the ability he wants his opponents to know about is what he wants them to think. He knows there's several variables, like how he faced against one guy who was able to cancel his ability, or how he needs someone convinced in order to use the ability he wants. Telepathy allows him to pretty much adjust his other skill.

I’m kinda happy to see a non-simping MC for once, or an MC that isn’t super anxious when it comes to girls. This guy’s an absolute madlad since he’s so straight faced and calm.

It still makes me sad, however, that he’s basically just toying with Yuuri’s feelings because she’s a bit naive and stupid, just so he can test out his Sophist ability (I mean, it’s really smart for him to do so, but him having barely any feelings for her makes me think he’s a psychopath of sorts).
