Good story some parts could of been better but overall it was ok.

The two man characters didn’t develop that much still the same almost but a bit more mature. They were handed the w. They won through sheer luck. They got carried the whole time. And Kawada shouldn’t of died he had no reason to die it was bullshit that he died honestly. He was a better main character then the actual two mc’s and his story is very interesting had potential. Would of liked to see a sequel about him.

I really enjoyed it for the most part. Some things got a little outlandish, and the MC was unrealistically pacifistic (and annoyingly passive in the story), but all the messages and themes hit home for me.

Just about every character was written with deep and distinct personalities. I felt genuine loss for several of the deaths.

Kiriyama was a good bogeyman to have hunting on the island, but there were many times he was written with too much plot armour. Such as tanking an explosion inside a car.

The crazy girl hearing voices was weirdly hot

Watched the live-action movie about a decade ago, long before I even started reading manga. Was reminded of the movie recently and I thought to myself, “damn, they probably adapted the movie from a manga I should check it out”. Found it on MD, which led me to binge-read this in a night. Boy, did the manga hit harder lmao. Now I gotta rewatch the movie. o7 to Shogo.
