Going from "winning Koshien is the only acceptable result" mentality being instilled into them in their freshman year by their seniors to "whether you win or lose Koshien, life moves on regardless" must be giving all the current 3rd years (especially Kano) some serious whiplash.

Not sure why the author is setting up the story for them to never win anything during their high-school years, but it will be disappointing if that happens.

It has been a fun ride, I'm gonna miss Fujimaki as the head coach and the 3rd years who are graduating.

It will be hilarious if they play like trash after that coach speech, since everyone will be like there's more option later not just baseball :lul:

Kano and Hinoki both always said DL and Koshien weren't the end goal. For Kano, the whiplash is "baseball isn't life."

I have no issues with the shift in mentality, we know it's viable from Yokohama. The players will realize in time too.

But I just don't see why their only coach (as far as we know) has to be someone without baseball experience, no offense meant. Kaoru doesn't want the seat, but can't they find someone outside of DL? Their reputation is largely restored and they have a good team.

Yeah, i truly can't believe that they can't call any help outside, or their graduate/old boy to coach them considering their long history.
