I mean honestly, i kinda want to see the past ryu back, at full peak. Though it wouldn't make sense because of the heavy injury he had. That'd be so dope.

@lpe it would depend how much of what he lost is pure physical aptitude, or psychological trauma restraining him (like the stairs).

@daedalron actually, when he returned to the field in middle school, he had spent 2 years without running with the ball, 2 years in which he grew up in height. So he completely lost his personal sense of space with a ball and decided it would be a waste of time to focus on his dribbling at the time as he would not get his ball sense back in time to play at the level he needed to play.

I imagine that now that he spent so much time playing, he naturally got some of that sense back, yet he doesn't realize that he may have regained enough ball control to be able to begin dribbling again.

@RandomDoge That's also my assumption, that he lost his foot-touch because of his growth while never touching the ball. And that after failing at the beginning, after his rehab, he never focused on regaining his touch, since at the time he might have considered (wrongly) that he had lost it forever.

once Ryuu gets his touch back / old form back, and Sakuraba becomes less selfish, their team will be a force to be reckoned with.
