This is what I like about this manga, that the characters are allowed to have flaws. It still baffles me that this is printed in a shonen magazine, this should be targeted to adults.

Why hate the mother for Gosha's (and his gf) fault? I mean she didn't ask to be born different and it's Gosha who, knowing how bad hybrid life gonna be, decide his desire to have a child important than how that said child gonna be suffer.

I'd be depressed as hell too if I was her. People will stare and talk shit so I'd be a shut-in too. I know she should be stronger and be the better mother but really, in the real world not 'too good to be true' fiction, how many would be that strong? It's one person against the world. It's a rare case and she would feel very alone. Gosha didn't even try to actively help help her too.

For me I'm blame Gosha more than her. He's kind dad and grandpa, I know that but I think he's too naive

@namgangs if you want to blame anything, wouldn't blaming on society be easier?
Saying it's the grandpa's fault is as naive as you percieve him to be. Depression and suicide isn't something you could easily pin the blame on one thing. Sure Gosha could've done something, but at the same time if you're actually facing a family member who's depressed and suicidal, you'll probably be stumped.
there's a lot of reasons and factor that can push someone to take their own life, it's never just "one thing".

I mean specifically events with mother helps justify why he acted like THAT much of a dumbass I guess.

Also the fact one of the mom's eyes changed but not the other weirds me out, you woulda thought both would at least.

Cause we can't change the society so blaming that is like, I don't know blaming god? everything else except oneself?

I just saying I don't balme the mother like many people here, which seems like we're agree? No? I didn't say she has just one reason to take her own life? I just said it makes sense for her to be suicidal in that situation.

For grandpa, I mean I think it's morally wrong to have a kid when you know the kid will have genetic decease or sth like that. Which is only my point of view, I mean many won't get abortion even their child have down syndorme but I know I would and think it'd be selfish otherwise. I didn't blame him for not actively help her, I said she must feel lonely since even her own father didn't actively reach out.

I have no problem with Legosi's mom, beyond that she decided Legosi was perfectly fine and not going to become half lizard at 12 years old when she didn't even start transitioning when she was already an adult. Why would someone with less lizard blood begin transitioning earlier than you?

We can't say for sure that Legosi's mom believed he wouldn't change.

If we think of this interaction as either real or a hallucination, I'd go with the hallucination.

There were two significant events that were revealed: Legosi's mom checking his face for mutations, and his mom hugging him in his sleep the night before she killed herself. Legosi's mom presents these two events as things Legosi doesn't know, but the author seems to go out of his way to show that Legosi did know about them.

Because the main discussion consists only of things Legosi already knew, we can figure that he's not talking to an actual manifestation of his mom, but just his mind's representation of her. The part about her being content that Legosi would be okay is all an assumption made by him, as a way to cope with his mother's death.

I wonder if there will be a twist revealing the horse dude is a hybrid too. I mean his tail definitely looks more like that of a donkey. Maybe that's also part if the reason why he hates hybrids

What's really sticking out to me about Legosi's mother visually is how much her scales and their growth pattern on her body look like IRL mange.

"I gave birth to you - that alone makes me a winner at life". You know, one of the things I really like about this series is how it sometimes just goes out of its way to remind us that its characters are animals, no matter how much consciousness is stacked on that.

@stackman

It can't be a hallucination. Last chapter, the ghost told him who his father was, which is something I highly doubt either his living mother or his grandfather would ever have told him, or that Legosi would have somehow found out on his own.

And "I hunted down and fucked a fashion model" doesn't really seem like the sort of backstory even Legosi's subconscious mind would come up with for himself.

I’m glad to know that almost everyone here would be capable of going through life with 100% pure optimism knowing that nearly everybody avoids eye contact with you, distance themselves from you, harass you, and deem you as a freak show cause you have 3rd degree burns from the bridge of your nose to the tips of your toes.

Felt sad for Granpa Gosha. His daughter can't even embrace his komodo dragon blood.

When I tell you that I cried at page 14-15. I'm not ashamed at all.

Edit : Dangit, did it again
