The anime actually became okayish in last few episode but in the end they literally wasted all 20 episode in exchange of nothing.
I dont read the novel but i am pretty damn sure it misses something alot and the LN illustration doesnt really match both anime and manga design,
The closest one that adapt it from the same artist was guilty crown since hes the one whos in charge of original character creation.
But again translator were right, GC was an anime original while Beatless isnt. and GC have good Studio handling it
