Just because they have the ability to kill people it's ok to kill them first? Where does it end then? Regular animals also have the ability to quickly kill people, so are they marked for death too? What about people, hell we're constantly killing each other. Even the mc has the ability to kill off a supermarket full of people before anyone even knows they're in danger, so are they going to kill him too?

The better phrasing would be “they ARE killing us. Unless there is a path to peace, war remains our only option.”
