The JP version kind of treated “都市伝説 (としでんせつ/ToshiDensetsu)” Urban Legends and Creepypasta “ネトロア/Net-Lore” as one and the same. When you look up images for “都市伝説” you pretty much get Creepypasta-esque art.

To make things a little extra confusing, in some ways (with synonym usage) this manga also treats the stories about mythological creatures as “Urban Legends” as humanity constantly changed or updated details about them generation after generation. These details presumably influenced an anomaly’s appearance & abilities.

Considering these new anomalies are going to be more modern & seemingly more horror based, I felt “Creepypasta” would be a more fitting, and threatening name for them.

EDIT: I actually hate them on a conceptual level, especially when they lead to polygamy. I lost all interest in Nue's Exorcist when he fkin' basically confirmed he'll marry more than one person. I already hated the harem, but that shit actually made me drop it.

Nah, it's not that harems are inherently bad, it's that most authors are just fucking lazy and go with the least effort possible to push out content. It's the one dimensional characters that pine for the central figure that make most harems unpleasant to read.

I actually like harem stories. I’m not fan of the ones that annoyingly force a monogamous ending along with a ton of unnecessary & completely avoidable drama.

Not like we have an abundant supply of regular romance manga. Not hating, I also like this genre. Yet, some authors, editors, or even the management at publishing companies still feel the need to spoil the plot with similar issues that harem stories suffer…

Kind of funny, I saw the monster design and was like "oh, that must be a yokai", got temporarily blindsided by it not being a yokai, and then surprised by a yokai showing up anyway.

With how spider lady is kind of shy, I wonder if she's a bookish type, and the "limited targets" the creepypastas are targeting are their readers.

Hmmm this kind of "Creepypasta Anomaly" remind me of topic from other places like Touhou (Main Part of "Urban Legend in Limbo"), and Dead By Daylight (The Unknown, Killer that's somewhat based on concept of Analog Horror/Urban Legend)

It's interesting how Old Tales Horrors are made from people's lack of knowledges, and nowadays we got more knowledge to close said gap of knowledge that caused horror imagination, yet somehow we still manage to find few more gap to create horror of, some of the gap is probably also something that we might never ever be able to fill
