zOMG! A gag manga that's... actually funny! Okay, they don't all land, but I actually laugh. This is so much better than all the recent crap inspired by Poptepic, where all you have to do is make it absurd (but not funny) and cram in as many memes in as you can, like Dragon Musume. Thanks to whoever's doing this!

Glad you enjoy it. It's funny that you mention Dragon Girls, since it's actually the same author for both that and this.

I picked this up on a whim while waiting for volume 3 of Kaneda-san and didn't really know what to expect but I liked it more than I thought. It takes a bit for it to find its rhythm but once the supporting cast starts expanding I think it comes into its own

Wow, yeah, it really is the same author - yet this is so much funnier. My recent nadir of 4-koma (Dragon Girls) vs one of the funniest 4-koma I've seen recently (this).

Not sure what to make of that, maybe Dragon Girls is just him going for what's popular (poptepic style) while this is him trying to actually be funny?

I really don't know. But either way, thank you for scanslating this! This is great on its own, and I look forward to it.

I just wanted to comment about the huge pun in the title, which purposely wants you to read it wrong.

The title is 'ベルリンは鐘', which you would read as 'Berurin ha Kane'. The last kanji (鐘) means bell, but if you just hear 'Berurin ha kane', a normal Japanese person would immediately think it means 'Berlin [the German city] is Expensive'. This is a common phrase. And if you weren't trying for that pun, you would never write the title this way, you would write 'Beru to Ringu ha Kane' - which is unequivocally just 'Bell and Ring are Bells'.

My guess is the author heard the phrase 'Berlin is Expensive' (Berurin ha kane), noticed the pun with 'Bell' and 'Kane' and just back-invented the entire freaking manga to fit that pun! Which is fine, I still think this is the funniest four-koma currently going.

I'll be honest, my assumption was that it was a nonsense soundalike based on "ベルリンの壁" (Berlin no Kabe, aka "The Berlin Wall"), but I don't know for sure!
