I'm really confused with the TL situation on this oneshot.
I recall loving the story but apparently the one I originally read was MTL...
Is the difference that significant between versions. Is this one the good one?

I made a point of not rereading the existing translations once I decided to translate this a few months ago, but I just reread this morning. One immediate difference that I only noticed this morning -- I used the raws from the new anthology release, which has a wider page size, so some of the art extends further into the margins in my translation, but nothing dramatic. I also can't help but translate/redraw the sound effects, which are untranslated in the other two, if that matters to you.

I'm surprised how similar the first translation by honaena (the one that used MTL a little) turned out to be to my translation. We ended up translating many lines almost word-for-word the same. Might mean we both err on the side of more literal translations, but a good vote of confidence either way. There a few lines I interpreted pretty differently here and there, but it's a good translation.

The other translation (Kudamono) took some more liberties and adds in some additional explanation that's not in the original text (e.g. the great aunt's line "Sweet Bella..." has been replaced with "I have done this to protect you", which is definitely the implication, but not stated in those terms in the original), and some lines replaced altogether (e.g. the line about the bread eraser went from "You absolutely should not eat this" to "A piece of bread she used as a rubber for charcoal markings", which is helpful context but not really a translation so much as a translator's note pasted instead 😅 ), and some cases more subtle nuances are lost (page 32, Bella asks Anna, "will it make for a good picture?", talking about the scenery, but Anna answers "Yes, it will" thinking about how beautiful Bella herself is; in the Kudamono translation, this just gets translated as "why don't you try drawing these flowers" and Anna just says "okay I'll give it a try").

I think all three will capture the main points of the story and you can appreciate Ruu1mm's gorgeous art either way!

This was good, though I don’t like how close she was to kissing the prince.
