man i have this crack head sleep deprived theory that all the super op/evil characters have this ability to see or grab hold of the strings of fate and metaphorically pull themselves to a future that pleases them i.e (just getting a perfect chance and taking) but I'm not trying to simplify it I mean it in more of a six sense kinda of thing like they actually view fate and the laws of causality in a different way from the mundane plebs I'll explain here
skull knight came to the festival for a reason that was either lost in translation or a mystery but when he saw that Zodd had crossed his path apparently being his moral rival that will never let him just walk away he decided that their encounter must have a reason so he immediately began combat assuming they are legit rivals Skully besting him in that short of time was a sign that he should now enter the storm unimpeded when he does he see Void first and assume that means he'll get the drop on him it didnt work so he scanned and saw that there where two survivors so logically as a being that can see the threads he approach the juvenile god hand avoiding the first blow getting the survivors and getting out literally unscathed landing right in front of a man with magic healing shit this is also a thread so he tosses them both to get healed with even with zodd agreeing that circumstances was fated to be
the author has seeded this concept in numerous chapters b4 and I hope I'm not just stating the obvious I am really tired
