@Sash: I'm hoping that while they picked her up initially because of how she looked like their dead daughter, they are treating her well not because they think of her as a replacement but rather a 'second chance' for them to love a daughter.

i.e. They want to give Hari the love they couldn't for the dead daughter.

Honestly, watching how they bully her now I can imagine how she may not have had anyone on her side the first time around. I would say, not even being able to openly be pampered by the parents in fear of the bullying, I can understand why she desperately wanted to escape the brothers. And for the bullying to have extended past her adulthood... That sucks.

Was I supposed to think "Oh wow, the boys really are abusive jerks" this chapter? How the MC behaved seems to me worse than anything they've done thus far. The author has successfully made me sympathize more with the characters they intended for me to dislike than with the fragile, helpless MC.
