This is a double suggestion:
i. Many older, and even a few recent webtoons had embedded background music. Mainly Naver ones, to my knowledge. This was trendier in Batoto times, to the point that they supported inclusion of one BGM file per chapter, so it would play automatically in a loop (they did have a small progress bar and a pause button). I understand that the fashion has faded, but the older webtoons still find their way here, and the groups might want to upload the BGM files, too. And a couple of recent ones still have BGM, too.
I also understand that opening this can of worms might encourage people to upload BGM music not related to the chapter, of their own choice. I suggest that this behaviour become reportable and moderated.
Not sure how easy it would be to code for that, but adding a limit of one sound track file per upload wouldn't be problematic. And 5 MB should be more than enough, webtoon BGM is far smaller than that.
And speaking of uploading a single file of a certain kind…
ii. Allow one PDF file per chapter. That would be great for us scanlators, in my view. That way, we could include clickable links to our Discord/site/reader/Patreon/whatever. That might help us get recruits among the people who are too lazy to type out even a shortened web address. (Granted, someone that lazy might be not worth much as a scanlator, but leave no stone unturned is my motto as admin.)
I understand that bad-faith people might include clickbait and links to malware in their releases, but frankly, that wouldn't be MDex's responsibility. Just make the behaviour reportable and punishable and beyond that, it's reader beware.
