Honestly given the way the rumor says Teradate confessed to the other girl, I'm betting that what actually happened was the reverse and Teradate turned her down and then the other girl likely Mitake had like a bad reaction that ended up spawning the rumor. So she's likely to be at fault for what happened regardless but she might not have meant for it to get as bad as it did for Teradate.

In the oneshot, the rumor was started by the girl she was supposedly stalking, as revenge for being rejected, but for some reason I feel like it's gonna be a bit more complicated here. The other girl involved in the rumor becoming an actual character makes me think we're gonna be seeing multiple sides to the story this time.
