Yeah I can't decide if this is something wearing Kanna's shape while the real one is asleep, or if the implication is that Kanna has become something more than human thanks to her interactions with the FL and the cat.

My thought is it's sort of a corruption that is mostly physical?

Looking at the parts about her when she was sick and her now it feels less like she's a completely different person and more like meeting MC allowed her to indulge in some inclinations she already had.

Come to think of it MC is kind of a dumbass it's totally possible that she didn't properly put her on the payroll.
