One of the story i reread sometime.

I like to see the character grow up.

Also, the general and Mc mom were probably the only good adults in this story.

This isn't a masterpiece by any means, but it succeeds where a lot of survival/post-apocalypse stories fail. It's split into three parts which allow the characters to succeed, escape, find some sense of normalcy to their lives, and then escalate the stakes of the narrative later. This avoids the treadmill effect you have in The Walking Dead and other series which just devolve into 'oh they escaped some zombies, can't wait until next week when they run into some more zombies they need to escape from.'

This is a very enjoyable story! I love it! I've read it when I was in middle school, and I've been revisiting it from time to time. I really like how the main characters developed, and the MC's mother is such a memorable character.

I loved this series when I read it years ago. Glad to have found it again so I can re-read

I genuinely think this is a masterpiece. Sure, the characters are a bit simple, and the story is very predictable, but it's all done so cleanly. I can always come back to this and reread it over and over again, and every time there's a sense of comfort and familiarity. It never gets old, like a food or song you've enjoyed your entire life. A perfect nostalgia captured in something you've never read before. You know exactly where it's going, but the ride is so smooth that you don't really care.
