Classical usually refers to antiquity / ancient greek and roman times. So like Hippocrates championing the idea of the Four Humors.

Classical is only really used to refer to around the 18th century in fields like music and physics.

It's inconsistent, but it has to do with how the fields were formalized and progressed.

So a better term would be 'early modern medicine'. Sorry for the 🤓 moment.
