...So Shic's father, who has been a complete mystery up until this point, was a spy for a different kingdom while being the strongest magician alive at the time. He met a princess with great magical power of her own and they fell in love and had Shic. SO Shic is a product of the greatest magics of the previous generation as well as a member of royalty by blood.
Also, this may be me stretching, but Meredith(the green one) is a human created almost entirely out of the magic infused into the tower by the 2nd king (the giant), and thus inherited his name and some memories(?). I'm not sure on this theory because the story stopped, but it does explain a lot, so I'm going with it.
