People be hating on the dad for being neglectful and ignorant and I definitely agree but I don't think he is to blame. Some people just have no idea how to deal with a situation like this and don't know what to say so they end up saying... Nothing. It's shitty but it is definitely a human way to react especially when you didn't know what was going on the entire time because, let's face it, Seiko is a sociopath and she's a terrifyingly good one at that. This kind of 'mental paralysis' is real, it's human. It's not that he doesn't care, he just has no clue what to do with his son.

I still don't get the dad tbh. It's nice to see him finally being a competent dad to Seiichi but I don't get how he's finally being made aware of thing but still moves so unaware. Like him asking "Is Seiko mentally unwell?" DO YOU REALLY NEED TO ASK THAT AFTER EVERYTHING⁉️ Your still not convinced? Also since he now not only did his wife push his nephew off a cliff, but he she did it thinking it was their son, and he's still fighting for her. I honestly don't get it. There must be a reason that just went over my head or something. There were times where both Seiko and Sei needed him and he wasn't there for them. But now that he basket case ass is finally getting locked up, he's fighting the process? I dunno why but at least he's there for Sei now. Him calling Sei's teacher to take it easy on Sei was such and improvement from him sending his son with a stutter to school every day cuz it was "no big deal".
