SPOILERS FOR GOODNIGHT PUN PUN IF YOU HAVEN'T READ IT
It's mad depressing to see Sei in this state. I know a lot of people said Flowers of Evil was like Goodnight Pun Pun. And yeah they did have somethings in common. But right now this story feels like Pun Pun. Reading about an abused kid that root for and wish the best for, only to see them grow into a monster. Not to be dramatic, but it's a really soul crushing. I know not every trauma victim can escape and change for the better. And that often enough, they repeat the cycle and grow into their abusers. But it's still heartbreaking to see. Especially when you consider the revelation he made before he was consumed by his mother once more. He was finally breaking free and confronting her for all the things she did to him, and how she's made him small his entire life, only to slip back into arms once again.
And once again, Fukiishi's words are ringing in my head. If Sei doesn't get away from his crazy mom. He'll end up crazy like her. The fact that he actually did get away, but that wasn't enough. She did so much damage to him, that even while locked up, she still polluted his mind so heavily. At the end of the day she was inescapable. He had been tethered to her for long that she now resides in his mind. It's f*cked and it's sad to see. I wish there were more people trying to help him before things got this bad. Yes there was Fukiishi but in the grand scheme of things there wasn't much fellow abused kid could do for him. The adults around him really failed him.
So yeah. I just feel sad. Seiichi was a kid I rooted for and related to to a certain extent. So it's sad to see him become like his mother.

This manga makes me want to reexperience Monster. But in manga form (I've only seen the anime).
