You're right. No one owes me anything. But this is a place for discussion and I think it's fine to have those expectations when someone calls me cringe or that I don't understand something or how "inept" my manga comprehension is. It's nothing to do with narcissism or main character syndrome shit, I'm just defending myself and my original take while being open to the chance it's changed. You're right that I should've asked for it in my original comment tho, regardless of how angry I was.
I apologize for coming off as vitriolic but please put yourself in my position. If you were angry at a series you've kept up with & discussed for years and gave justification for it, but people simply shoot you off with insults and saying you have low reading comprehension - wouldn't you want an explanation too?
If you asked more clearly about the questions you had about the manga or the events that happened, maybe you wouldn't have gotten such a reaction. As a reader, your message hurt me a bit and I found it a bit offensive to those who like the manga, to be honest. :)

I would ask for an explanation instead of posturing my expectations through buzzwords.

I appreciate your recollection and the only way you got there is by myself and the other dude typing in a way that shows you've got a defeatists mentality about this manga. Again no one owes you anything. You owe it to yourself to either find answers in the manga yourself, or to move along to find other things that serve you. We all die alone homie, its up to you to be your own advocate and ally as you make your way through life. I urge you to go back and re-read this manga with this level of recollection you've gained here.

The author isn't even trying anymore.
It's been a directionless symbolism jerkoff-fest for the past 80 chapters.
Man is just writing as he goes while the ambiguity and potential for some reveals create this mask that the series is some sort of genius masterwork. It's like me in middle school media class trying to ham in as much special effects and glitch sfx to sound edgy and profound. It's so fucking embarrassing. This used to be one of my favorite mangas, and I still think the earlier portion of the story has some genuinely great story with actual substantial discussion to made between Seichi & his mom as well as how visual imagery is used so effectively.
Nowadays he's just mindlessly drawing for the sake of drawing and hoping that the fanbase he's created will eat this shit up like it's some high-intellectual "you just don't get it" masterpiece.
Maybe it’s just art.

No, to me it really feels like he is writing from experience. Be it himself or someone he was close to in his life.
My life has been that of constant abuse, starting from a very young age, and this is the piece that encapsulates it the best.
If you don't like it, there truly is nothing wrong with not liking it. Different pieces will resonate with different people for different reasons. It does for me due to how much I identify with it all.
Fact is, people are gonna be stuck with these thoughts, feelings and memories for decades to come and it does come in such imagery. I am glad that someone is expressing it in a more realistic way. The way it affects your perception of reality and you aren't sure what is really real anymore. The dissociation that comes from it all, it's honestly quite realistic.
But yes I will say that if you haven't been through this dire of an abuse, you couldn't understand. And that's honestly a good thing.

When I started reading this manga, I was amazed at how skillfully the author portrayed the character's feelings. I think he's definitely someone who has experienced such abuse. I still read the manga with great admiration and I think the author continues it in a masterful way.

I dropped it a long while before the timeskip because it was getting boring, glad I did.

Really sad that the way he's now letting go of Shige is when his aunt died... But hopefully Seiichi can have better days from now on!

That "bruised p***y" comment I made on the first of September (01/09/2023) (on a completely different manga) really made you slink around in other threads to slander me in your roundabout cowardly ways?

I've never experienced such an absolute child on the internet that loves me so much. Its almost flattering. If almost also meant creeply that is
