@3RDp The story already implied Seiko had issues long before she even had Sei (unless she had Sei in high school or some shit). It happens when Seiko takes her kid to the same place where she tried to have him killed as a toddler, and she tells him how she always felt repulsed by average people or some whack crap like that that basically implied very heavily she was at least extremely depressed from a young age.

Also the dad isn't trashy lmfaooo He is just an average dad. THAT is something that may escape people who arent used to a average lifesyle over there but his dad working long hours and Seiko being a stay at home mom are all super normal things. It may be far from ideal, specially if you grow up with western standards, but the entire point at the beginning was to show how NORMAL Seiichi's family life was on the surface, yet you could tell something was off (mostly because of Seiko). Pay attention.

Is like some lynchian junk going on. Is the horrors in the mundane, and how those who are supposed to protect you, can be the ones who hurt you horribly the most.

Even if sei didn't accompany shigeru when he pees and create the butterfly effect, sei will most likely get into some shit later . His mother is the root of the problem. his mom crazyyyy 😔

P.S : his relative isn't that bad tho, even the aunt still think of sei and seiko when her own son is in a vegetative state, and his dad IS normal, he's just an average dad. If his dad was evil/terrible, his dad would've abandon him and seiko when she said she would have divorce him a long time ago in an early chapter.
