If you slide show the panels along slowly, you can pin point the exact moment her heart is torn into tiny chunks.
I also think that Kyoko has two inner conflicts.
One is she's working in grandpa's shop, she feels intimidated and inferior compared to these bright people who are in college.
I think she was being very mindful of "I know Ibuki loves me, I trust Ibuki, but I'm feeling jealous when other girls who make me feel inferior interact have a good time interacting with him" - she knows its not logical, but she feels it, and she's not wanting to be the 'crazy jealous girlfriend' who stops him from having friends or makes him feel guilty for spending time on his passions.
Kyoto just doesn't know for sure that her ThotDAR was completely spot on.
I also think she's really having some selfesteem issues or she'd see that Ibuki would rather spend the day with her than have his painting win an award.
It is very, very bad form in Japan to make waves or cause social disturbance, especially when you are a "guest".This is a cliché but what kind of bs is that to not want the character interested in another which is in a relationship to know that this character is in a relationship ? It every times ends up in more suffering along the way for everyone. Like fr if you don't want the person to be hurt, the quickest the hopes are cut short, the less it hurts.
