It's been otherwise clear, but this chapter showed she doesn't actually like this guy romantically. She thinks she's supposed to act in a certain way if she's "changed." It's very forced, with how much she has to remind herself of how he's "such a good guy" and she "should feel appreciative of his effort." It feels less like romance and more like a job interview. She also very much wanted to be with her friends instead. Also, another reminder that being shy or non-confrontational does not mean you're nice.

I also don't like how he didn't respect her plans. They agreed on when she would meet up with her girls, and it seems he never intended to follow through--just expecting her to go along with it once he pulled the rug. That's very passive-aggressive. If you have an issue, just say so. Don't play these games. I feel like Kyo is the type to accept her for who she is rather than create this tension. Plus, when he has an issue, he's generally upfront about it, especially with her. If the series does go as I think it will, I appreciate showing what could make them work as a couple compared to this other "nice guy."

The way it comes out feels like he had the whole-day thing already planned out. Not a great look guy. I can understand the frustration as he's probably picked up the clues she's not fully committed, but if you're going to cut short her plans with her friends it has to happen organically, not top down like he's doing here. Learning experience for both (and that's exactly what dating is about, to be fair!)

Not a huge fan of having Kyo just coincidentally being at the right place at the right time, but roms gotta drama.

I don't play these games so it's really confusing to me what she even wants at this point. :pacman:

Idk if I should pity the guy tbh. She's just leading him on after all.

Reminds me of a certain manga
I feel like both are wrong here... She's leading him because she doesn't really like him, and he's wrong because they had an agreement and he's just ignoring that. And what certain manga are you talking about? You made me curious, lol.

I wouldn't say she leads him on. She just.... doesn't know what love is. She just treats em as friends who maybe should be 'special', but she doesn't know what that is exactly. She doesn't get this weird feeling in the stomach like other characters that do. To her, it's literally just a 'boy' + 'friend'. Instead of, you know, significant other'.
Taiki and Chi think about each other a lot. Hina also did about Taiki for a long time as well. Even Haruto is working on his game plan with Hina. And Kyo is just brooding over our girl here. But she just doesn't. Well, actually, she did. But it was for Kyo.

She doesn't deserve kyo at all, she hasn't treated none of the guys shes been with good at all. It seems like she only wanted kyo because he didn't want/pursue her like the other guys did and there's nothing about her thats good. She has led on multiple guys including her current "bf". Yes he shouldn't have disregarded her plans but so far in this relationship shes been the red flag.

She 100% has led him on she never liked him from the start and should've turned him down. She knows what love is but shes trying to force that love with him instead of just breaking up. Stop making excuses for her

you're kinda right but, if the translation is good enough, she just said "well lets just date" she never once said she liked him nor did something romantic. So, in a way, she never lied. More like "let try out". And its what the guy also understood cause he's letting her time. that's what i understood from their (too long) arc. May be wrong ofc, idk

I'd agree. She tries but it never clicks. She's not really duplicitous. That other commenter clearly dislikes her and sees everything she does as though there's intent. She's a high schooler figuring things out just like the rest of them.

She has a confused relationship to love and affection and is working through that--sometimes that leads to negative outcomes, but she's become more understanding of that. That new understanding is exactly why she's trying real hard to be with this current guy. She thinks it's what she should do for him to make him happy, even though she's ignoring her own feelings. Currently she's being too selfless.

I'm not sure what they mean by not deserving Kyo either because she's done nothing to Kyo. We're being a bit dramatic. She hasn't killed anyone. There's nothing she doesn't deserve.
