This chapter is named after the jazz standard "Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye".
Introduced as a jazz song in the 1944 Musical Revue, "Seven Lively Arts". Featuring lyrics and music written by Cole Porter. The first version was performed by Nan Wynn, and the song went on to become a well-known jazz standard.
