This chapter title is tough to nail down, there have been many songs (jazz and otherwise) called "Evolution," over the years. Sticking with a common theme with the chapter titles, I'm guessing that this is a reference to another John Coltrane compostion:
Evolution (1/4)
Evolution (2/4)
Evolution (3/4)
Evolution (4/4)

The only available recording of the song is from a 1965 concert that was released posthumously in 1971 as "John Coltrane Live in Seattle." It's an aggressive avant-garde composition, a good representation of Coltrane's late output before his death in 1967. If this is the song Ishizuka Shinichi had in mind it's an appropriate choice, foreshadowing a rocky road ahead for Dai.

In the flashback, Dai's teacher was playing at is Birdland, a famous jazz club in New York City. I'm not sure how old he's supposed to be, but my guess is that he was playing at the club's current location—opened in 1996—in Manhattan on W 44th between 8th and 9th Avenues.

@TehSDragon No problem. I thought it was a nice touch on their part and wanted to keep it up.

@vigorousjammer So I put my comments up before your group dropped chapter 19 later in the day. I thought that there had been a changing of the guard and, as I said, wanted to continue your good work providing background on the titles. If you guys are continuing the series after all I can leave the title info to you, or not, I really don't mind doing it. Either way, I don't want to step on anyone's toes. I love this series, keep up the good work!

@BilliusX Nah, it's no problem if you'd like to continue. I wasn't actually familiar with Coltrane's Evolution, so I was having trouble figuring out the source for this chapter's title. You've helped me out. ^_^

Seeing the downgrade in quality of scanlation and translation is extremely sad to be honest, this manga is a masterpiece, just imagining having to read the rest of it with such poor quality and words so poorly translated compared to what the author actually wrote just pains me. I can only hope it gets better, this manga deserves it.
