I mean, he's got a point. He's blaming his sibling for what their parents expect of him.

@SomeThingsAreWack I've wanted to drop it for so long, but I feel like I'm too far in to do so. I just want it to end as quickly as possible. It's been crap for a while.

@Abedeus You mean she? You mean she, Towa, has a point, that Toki is just blaming Towa for what their parents expect of him, Toki? Or did you actually mean that Toki has a point, that he is justified in blaming Towa for what their parents expect of him?

I mean, honestly, I see why they BOTH have a point. Towa is right that Toki is afraid of what their parents would say. However, that's also shit because what your parents say MATTERS. It's bullshit to just ignore what your parents say just because they're your parents. That doesn't mean it's the ONLY thing in life, but it's bullshit to just ignore it completely.

Err, I meant that she has a point. Toki is blaming her for his parents' expectations.

I can see why it appeared confusing, my bad. Sure, she might be a bit... hypocritical considering apparently they gave up on her so she can do whatever she wants, but still.

@Abedeus Fair enough. Just wanted to make that clear given the subject.

I mean, you yourself acknowledge that she might be hypocritical. That's why I made my comment about how both of them are right and wrong at the same time. Both of them are factually right. Toki is afraid of his parents' reactions, and Towa has basically put the burden of being "normal" on Toki. It's kind of bad to just say "but still" and not explain what that still is.

However, they're both immature and wrong because they try to go for the extreme. Towa says Toki should just live however he wants and ignore the thoughts of their parents? Yes, a high school student spending all night in a bar with, at the very least, alcohol is all fine because he wants to sing. And Toki is whining about how his parents want him to get good grades in school and have a stable career? Herp, fucking, derp, it's such a travesty for parents to want that.

We'll have to see how the parents actually are to fully decide, though.

The only reason I haven't dropped this yet is out of respect for ReLife. But yeah this is getting crappier with every chapter; as @comeonnow0 said I just hope this ends as quickly as possible.

The real take away from this should be; don't turn into crappy parents that wont listen to your kids :p

Still enjoying the series, thanks for the TL! :)

@NagatoKaiNi Super judgmental when we literally have never seen either of the parents. Hell, look at Towa, who is comfortable enough with her life now that she can tell her brother that he shouldn't worry about what the parents would do. Do you think that the parents would be so horrible when Towa seems to be fairly well adjusted? And yet you're here assuming that they must be crappy parents that won't listen to their kids.

Really loving the series for its depictions of suicide, PTSD, and trans representation.
Haven't seen something this "progressive" in a while.

An orphanage boy
Trauma
Betrayed
Raped
Strict parents
it's all messy but we barely even touch the story just bear with it believe me everything will be meh maybe good xd
I mean this is an author from ReLife you know how good it was

maybe Towa was the girl yuuhi talking about... I hope something extremely unpleasant didn't happen to her even if she's enjoying it like being raped, prostitution, totally bitching or sucking dick for 106.81 yen
these series offers nothing really only left a bad feeling for us, trauma, paranoia or maybe we will get cancer

@judevin28 The representations in this series are, quite literally, extremely cartoonish.

At the very least, there is almost ZERO examination of the aftereffects of each. Someone got gang raped and then was about to commit suicide? Oh, that was a while ago, and she's all fine now. We don't talk about that anymore. Let's move on to the next troubled teen!

And I'll be clear. Some people do cope with trauma very well. The problem is that this series doesn't even explore that. Literally edginess just for the sake of drama, and then when the upfront, in your face events are done, never bring it up ever again. We are 43 chapters in, and the only significant lingering effects of the rape were that the girl now feels romantically attracted to the MC. That's basically the most we've seen.

@lqbalfauzana wow I never knew, thanks for the info!
Also, by "Rebooted" do you mean that the author is still using the old chapters and can't change whatever he wrote before writing ReLife or he's constantly making changes to make it better (which would give me hope that this work will get better in future chapters)?

For some reasons, I have a feeling that their parents are actually ok with their choices, Toki just simply forces the responsibilities on himself, just like I used to.

And finally, we meet Towa. Can't wait for
Nagi to meet her since from what I heard, she was the reason why he applied to this school.

@lol480phuh

There were 5 chapters of the original one going around the internet and they're pretty much the same as the this one, with the only different being the art. So can't really tell if the author made some changes or not.
