@melbell you have to take into account that alot of people will like his personality and his looks as we saw in the chapter we also have to take into account the fact that he's won this title and that title and they'd think that because he's won this title he must be good right?
Other people probably had unfortunate circumstances like no means to pay football, restrictions, previous injuries, bad teammates things like that i assume.

oh i think i didn't really write my question clearly! i was just questioning why kira's scoring was really low, since if he was gathered with contestants who were ranked around 300, and in the Fifth group, then he'd have been evaluated as lower in terms of skill. to me, that didn't make sense because I was wondering how come he has that title as Japan's upcoming and rising star, if his skills weren't seemingly super high, and there should've been more than 200 contestants that are rated higher than him. though, Ego answers this question in later chapters

by saying he falsely labeled all groups as Fifth groups, so really, the rankings were inaccurate, so Kira probably was way higher than he was originally ranked
