@viewtiful, abstract art can be really great. I went to the Louvre last week to see the Da Vinci exhibition but I found it really boring. I really don't understand why so many people go see it. On the other hand they celebrate the 100 years of Soulage painter and that single room was worth my money

@Kdom : abstract art is more a "hit or miss".
Some people find Soulage's art totaly crap, while other may find it absolutely great. Figurative art is often more consensual.

And Da Vinci, especially La Joconde, is "overhyped" by the public. I mean, at the Louvre, on the wall opposite to La Joconde, there is the massive painting The Wedding at Cana by Veronese (a 10mx6m art piece), and it get barely any attention : the tourists all want to see La Joconde. Don't mistake me, a masterpiece that display an extremly brilliant use of some techniques, but it's crazy that it get that much attention (and it got much much worse since Instagram became popular).

I am so incredible glad this is getting serialized, and don't get me wrong I REALLY REALLY LIKE to read it here and I want to continue it but I also really really want to buy my copy, support the author and just keep it as a treasure.

Seeing many others struggling so hard beside the protagonist is good writing, you don't need to make him look like the world is against him or that he's way behind anyone just to prove a point.

Anyone else see the girl's crack clearly there on page 8? When she's eating, I'm surprised I haven't seen any comments about that yet lol. It could be a crease in her skirt, but if so that is quite the unfortunate crease.

FYI (XD if interested) B&W also looks good not because of adaptability and self expression. But because of values. Values are the core of any painting. I once listened to a lecture online the instructor said, "You can add any hues/color pigments you want, as long as the values are correct your piece will be fine." You can literally paint the human face in blue but it will look good if you got the values right. Btw values is how bright or dark a paint is.

I think it's interesting that Kuwana's friend was hospitalized due to eating disorders, and she herself is pushing food at Yaguchi.
