I know that the name literally translates to Battleship, but shouldn't it have been left as Gunkan? In everything but the anime's english dub he was just called Gunkan.

Yeah the translator has largely favoured the Japanese names for things except maybe beauty i dont know if thats just what shes called in the Japanese version.

Yeah, the characters use "Beauty" (Byuti) to refer to her.
