The only Taniguchi Manga I haven't read (yet). Seems like this is even under the fact that Taniguchi is very niche and has made alot manga in his lifetime, this seems to be his one of his most unknown works. Atleast in the west, besides france.

I knew it interwove fiction into the story, but when I found out some characters were fictional, I thought, "I've been fooled!"
Jirō Taniguchi's illustrations make the lies seem more credible, and it feels more like collaboration than co-authorship.

While those who study history may find it laughable, I think it's no exaggeration to say that this is a great work of storytelling ingenuity.
