No it was PURGED. As in raws are all that’s left because the sites hosting it either got fully taken down or just deleted (like Mangadex). As far as I know this group is the only one that is scanlating.

Edit: to the confused reply, there were three major types of collapse when a huge wave of purging (being sued or hit with legal threats concerning licensed manga) happened, and still is happening but not at insanely high rates today.

1. A dedicated scanlation team site which was doing the scanlations but for whatever reason go an intense brunt of the blow and basically had to fully shut down or risk legal and financial elimination. This is a primary source and if it is wiped it is not coming back.
2. A "collation” site, like cubari, which is essentially a gathered and formatted set of references and links to other sites hosting the actual images. Because they are references and links, the images would all disappear but the site is allowed to stay up so long as the links are confirmed dead.
3. A “dedicated copy” site, like mangadex, that has trusted functionality that dedicated teams will use for uploading, yet is also very strict about responding to takedown requests and not allowing licensed material as a soft ground rule.
4. A "xerox of a xerox” site, where someone just rips scans from whatever groups they can find and then puts up a shitton of ads and redirects to bank on money coming from click volume, not quality. These sites are the easiest to nuke for this reason and if they are bearing rips from primary sources that already received the cease and desists that’s a double whammy.

In the case of this manga there was only one dedicated scanlation team site that I was aware of carrying it and since they went down, it essentially meant that they couldn’t be collated as the links would be dead, mangadex would most likely have gotten a request and complied to take it down, and the xerox sites would have even less of a chance of knowing about it let alone being able to actually have the chapters.

For ALL of that to be some kind of hallucination that only I experienced or mistook for another would be wild. Not buying your detective skills but I’d love to know the process.

Seeing as I remember this being done by one group and one alone and them being nuked, that still leads me to my previous assertion that it was purged: the OG site is no more, the aggregator sites Can’t have links, and the few sites that would have just ripped it are also gone.

Again, there are some aggregator sites that give zero shits about dmca and pull from any source without caring if it's good or not and will never delete them. Even when these sites get nuked other aggregator sites already pulled from them too. I checked the one that I use that does exactly that and couldn't find it at all, and the site in question has some series that you can't find anywhere else because some translator sites never mirror to other sites and self nuke the series and yet they still end up on that site

mc meets a rare enemy (or enemies) with absurd defense and low HP (golem maybe, if he's after the philosopher's stone)

mc finds a beastman (female) in trouble, saves them, they become a party member

either mc directly meets his old team and they end up apologizing, or the hero sees mc and confronts him

his old team will start to have problems due to everyone being braindead. either they blame the problems on mc or don't understand why the problems occur

That’s still no guarantee it got the one I remember, and if you have this site cool yet that still isn’t proof. Unless you can verify that your site can and will pull from EVERY possible site without fail then you can really say whatever you want but the onus is on you. Saying “trust me bro” I have this site feels like it puts the burden of proof on you. I’m making the claim that I have the memories of the series translated and that it finds its stride so people shouldn’t look to harshly on it now, but I recall that it was wiped. I described the types of sites and processes that manga gets saved by. If you have some insane aggregator site “that totally exists” cool but THAT to me sounds like BS.

Every time anything good happens to him, the book has to shit on him twice as hard the next chapter. It's just relentlessly depressing and frustrating to read.

Been reading this for about a year now as RAWs, great to see it's translated at last.

Something tells me that the mage will lose the first fight he gets into and will turn out to be completely worthless and then gets kicked out by the hero. In his rage he will let the truth slip and then the other companions will be kicked and charged for everything the party gave just like they did to the herbalist

Nope, nope, and nope. The story is more interesting than that in my opinion, though the magician certainly is awful [and not just for going along with this lie], but he's not that incompetent.

It gets better not that long after this point, to be honest, but... can't blame you for hating it since the author does make Manul suffer a lot.
